Colossians 3:23-24 instructs us to do our best in all that we do. It is within these verses that we find these words: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
The idea of being raised with Christ was introduced back in Colossians 2:12, where Paul used baptism to illustrate this spiritual reality. Now, seeing that we are raised with Christ, certain behavior is appropriate to us. ii. "The opening verses of chapter 3 sustain the closest connection with the closing verses of chapter 2.
